1. Jesus is not ashamed to call you his family (v. 10-13).
“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.”— Galatians 4:4
2. Jesus died for you (v. 14-17).
A. Jesus rescued you from Satan (v. 14).
“I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”—Genesis 3:15
B. Jesus saved you from yourself (v. 15).
“We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”—C.S. Lewis
C. Jesus saved you from the wrath of God (v. 17).
3. Jesus wants to help you when you are being tempted (v. 18).
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”—Hebrews 4:15-16
