Because Jesus has authority over our whole lives, we must follow Him whatever the cost and without delay. A scribe offers to follow Jesus. A disciple asks to follow Jesus later.

Because Jesus came to bear what sin has broken, we must come to Him with humble faith. 1. Jesus heals a leper. 2. Jesus heals a centurion’s servant. 3. Jesus heals Peter’s mother-in-law.

Because Jesus is the only way to life, we must build our lives on Him. Do not be deceived by false teachers. Do not be deceived by false assurance. Do not be deceived by false hearing.

Since the life Jesus commands is only found on the narrow way, we must deny ourselves and follow Him as true disciples. 1. We must live the life Jesus commands. 2. We must enter the path Jesus requires.

Because our Heavenly Father gives good things, we must keep coming to Him in persistent prayer, trusting Him. 1. We must keep coming to our Heavenly Father in prayer. 2. We should expect our Heavenly Father to give us good things.
